"And thus the heart will break, yet brokenly live on" --- Childe Harold's Pilgrimage by Lord Byron
I began to publish my essays on my website as a means to both serve as an editor to my school's newspaper department and to voice my thoughts on social issues. At the beginning, I found my interest in law, especially criminal law. With fierce determination I explored methods to become a great prosecutor. I read articles and books regarding law suits, criminal cases, and ethical dilemmas (especially "Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do?" by Michael Sandel). I watched Les Misérables in the theatre, by then, in a legalist perspective (yes, I very much sympathised with Javert). Meanwhile, a fundamental question remained in my head: why do conflicts arise, who causes them, what continues and encourages them, and how are they resolved? Diving deeper into this question, I found my interest in public policies, political science, and philosophy. Today, I continue to challenge the nature of human conflict, alongside with continuous exploration of philosophic ideas, political ideals, and contemporary issues.
